I like it! A friend who moved there hated the length of the day in summer (sun coming through her windows wouldn't let her sleep, but that never bothered me) and hated the short days in winter even more. I've never been in the winter, though I imagine I wouldn't like it as much. I like Swedes, though. I met some pretty nice people.

A lot of my mum's family are from there. We spent time there when i was a kid and i've back a few times in my adult life.

It is expensive, especially if you are going there from Korea. Alcohol is pretty regulated and expensive, though i've heard they have lossened up in the last few years. Swedish food is shite. I would take Korean food anyday over Swedish. And I don't really like Korean food.
The winters are long. I spent winter of 2006/07 in Umea, which is pretty far north. It got pretty depressing.
The people are cool and relaxed. Women are awesome. Stockholm in particular is a very cool city.

If I got the chance to study there I would grab it with both hands.

Same as cabeza, most of my mum's family are Swedish and/or living in Sweden. I must have been a dozen times, though always with older family and staying at relatives' houses, so I have a narrow perspective.

Stockholm is a lovely city. A really pleasant place to be and absolutely full of beautiful women. Alcohol costs a fortune and in general I think living costs are somewhat on par with the UK. It has high taxes, people are very liberal, and from what I've seen it's a very comfortable country to be in. In many respects I'd say it's the opposite of Korea, with Korea's low taxes, Korean people's scant regard for the law, socially conservative and highly religious society, inward looking, highly nationalist people and displays of shouting, shoving, spitting and domestic abuse in the street.

Figure out if you can afford it though

Hejsan!

I made the move from Korea to Sweden (UmeƄ to be exact) recently. Compared to Korea - much friendlier people, cleaner, more manners, high English level, more alcohol options (but expensive), hot women who are actually quite friendly - definitely prefer it here.

Downsides besides the expensive alcohol is that it's really hard to found housing, it takes ages.

What else? A lot of people into metal here, so better live shows and merchandise for that, no one stares at you, you can dress how you want/have a different hairstyle/be covered in tattoos etc and it's fine.

Oh yeah, it's free for EU citizens/Swss/Norwegians to study here, and the master's courses are in English (studyinsweden.se).

Not sure what else you want to know really, one thing in common with Korea would be weird pizzas and the Swedes like pasta with ketchup (not joking here).

I doubt you'd find kimchi in the north of Sweden though, it's more Chinese and Thai-food oriented stuff here, east Asian-wise at least.
