|
|
Can anyone tell me if juicing raw broccoli is okay?
I'm using a Breville Juicer - JEX800, I think - and I have been cooking my broccoli first before juicing it but it makes a complete mess.
Any other tips for me on what vegetables to juice or not juice?
Thanks! |

I would think broccoli would be too fibrous to get a decent amount of juice of out it, like bananas. I think any fruit or veggie with little water content would be hard to juice. I also might be completely wrong... |

I juice the broccoli stalks using a Hurom. Pretty good results. |

I'm getting a lot of juice out of the broccoli. Doesn't taste great but I can put in some apple or lemon to make up for that.
Do you throw in oranges and lemons and, if you do, do you leave the skin on? I done it both ways and prefer peeling them but trying to leave the white pith part under the skin on if I can. I use a knife to some of the pith gets cut off.
I also think that by peeling the oranges and lemons it's not as damaging on the blades and teeth of the blender. |

What model?
Is that a slow, pumping, masticating juicer that shoots the juice out slowly? Those are slow, aren't they?
I'm using a Breville JEX800 and I can't keep up with it. It shoots the juice out so fast that I have to stop and change to a fresh container. |
