ABC shoe stores carry Birkenstock sandals. There is one near Kangnam station and one at Myong dong. There are probably a few more in Seoul if you look around.

They were 95,000 won. I cannot find the style I want on the net in Korea. The ones I found on the net in the States were 120,000 won.

There must be an outlet?

Is it ok to wear Birks when teaching in Korea, assuming one is professionally dressed in all other ways? Just wondering as I can't seem to tolerate any other shoes.

It would depend on the age of your students and whether or not you wear socks.

So, let me guess, young students = it's ok? The sock thing really caught me. I can't even guess on that one. Do socks make it better or worse?

socks should not be worn with sandals, but you may need to wear them in school, depending on the fashion sense of your director.

Birkenstock sandals are pretty cool, but I prefer to wear tevas. You can wear them on and off the water, but you can not do that with birkenstock sandals.
