Hi All,

I'm moving into a "basement apartment" soon. It's not a true basement but it is kind of under the main house.
I've never lived like this before and am a bit worried. The place has been completely redone. New wallpaper, floors, cupboards and bathroom floor tile.

They admitted they'd had a mould problem so I am aware of the fact that I need to be more careful with dampness.
I am a little squeamish about bugs though I've never had a problem before. I just think a ground floor place would probably attract some weird critters. Do you have any recommendations for making sure I have a minimal amount of " guests"?

I thought of bug bombing the place before I moved in but don't know if this is overkill.
Do those bug zapper things work? The ones that look like a mini heater?

At home we use the chalk for roaches. Is there something I could leave around the house all the time as a preventative measure?

I know I sound nuts but I have a real ickiness for these things lol.

I took the place because it was all new and totally spotless but we know the finishing touches and sealing up all cracks etc is not really a priority here.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.
