Just a random question, at what age do Korean's get a drivers license. Is there a test ? Are Koreans normally taught by their parents or driving schools? |

The minimum age koreans get license is 18 ( i think ). But most get it when they are in their 20's. Alot of guys dont get it until they go into the army.
They are normally taught by a driving hagwon or at the driving licensing place ( they have their own school ).
and yes there are Tests.
Usually have to watch a 1 hour safety vid, do a physical exam, theory test, car function test and then a road test.
It will take people 3-6 weeks to do everything through a driving hagwon.
If you dont go through a driving hagwon it will take you 2-3 days minimum to do. 1 day if you can fit all the tests and video watching but thats hard to do. |

I don't blame Korean guys for getting their licence in the army. In the civilian world it's expensive. Why not let the government pay for it. |

Wow, I got my licence when I was 16. Parents afraid to let me drive though. Teenage driving in hindsite probably not the best idea. Now, I think it's 18 and graduated licencing for younger kids coming through the system. |
