A text message to my phone woke me up at 4am today. After that I couldn't get back to sleep. What was the text? It was advertising prostitution. Today is the first time I got a spam text at such an inconvenient hour. But I guess 4am makes the most sense from a business standpoint, as that is the time people are more likely to be sloshed with their judgement severely compromised. Did anyone else get this text today? Do you often get spam texts? Does a computer generator text everyone possible cell phone number combination? Or do only some people get the spam? Am I just unlucky? I get spam texts all the time. What's up with that? Do some numbers get it worse than others? In the U.S. I never received a spam text. (Maybe because people who do that there are prosecuted and jailed?) Is there any way to fight back against spam texts here? They really piss me off. I guess the best solution would be to turn off my phone before going to sleep and then turn it back on when I wake up. (But I don't always remember to do that.) Any tips/ideas for reducing spam?

1. Get an iPhone
2. Use the Do Not Disturb feature

Problem solved.

I'm sure Android will have a similar feature. (Apple probably stole it)

I get spam texts all the time, about 3-4 a day. I ignore them.
