Hello!
Just had a question about the D10 Visa - I'm not sure about the flexibility of the requirements.
I'm mainly concerned with the requirement about working for one of the Fortune 500. The listing provided on the visa site is a listing for the 500 biggest public companies. I work for one of the largest private companies in the country (in the top 10) - does that count towards the visa? Doesn't really make too much sense to me that people who only work at publicly traded companies are more skilled than those in the private sector. Is there wiggle room for discussion regarding this visa?

IF you are in Korea on an E2 then it doesn't matter. The paperwork is quite simple and straightforward:
ARC, passport, application, fees, job search plan.
If you are applying from abroad and don't have a PhD then good luck. Get an E2.

| Somehow I get the feeling he has no intention of teaching English but being an engineer of sorts? Hense D10 and Fortune 500 in the question. |

That's correct - I am not currently in Korea. I had an E2 three/four years ago but am back in my home country now.
I'm looking to find a non-teaching position in Korea, and feel that it would be easier if I could be in the country to interview and network. I don't have a degree beyond my Bachelor's. |

Then you can skip the D10 from abroad, the E7 as a specialist or most of the others.... E2 and networking is just about your only realistic option unless you can get transferred here as an international company transferee.
