It's September, but the temperature hovers in the high 20's. I find it to be quite humid and am quickly covered in a film of sweat after stepping outside.
I've just returned to Korea after a 3 year hiatus and I know my body will adapt to this climate somewhat over time, as it did when I first came to Korea.
Still, I'm watching people walk around in pants and dress shirts. Some have Hoodies draped over their heads....yet not a bead of sweat. After every trip outdoors I rinse off. I don't wear the same t shirt in the evening as the morning/afternoon. Just feels dirty by that point.
I envy them.
Back in Canada I lived next to a small apartment building filled with Koreans. They didn't seem too bothered by the Winter cold. We all know how girls like to repeat over and over about how cold it is(whether it really is or isn't). But I think they actually deal with the cold as well as anyone.
I'm about 6ft 185 lbs and several years ago I dropped about 15lbs and exercised religiously. This certainly helped my physiology deal with the heat here. As well as living through several Korean summers.
I often feel under dressed in a t shirt and shorts as most Koreans dress to the 9's just to head to a coffee shop.
Can't wait for some cooler weather. Would be nice to feel comfortable and dress up a bit.
Otherwise, no point really. Just sat in a coffee shop as I have no Internet in my apartment yet. So thought I'd kill some time and post something. |

They have an amazing heat tolerance.
They can sleep in bedrooms heated like ovens.
I put it down to having less body hair. They certainly have their anatomical differences. |

Now that you mention it...I remember ,when living in one of those 4 story walk-ups, how hot it would get in my room. They floor was literally uncomfortable to touch in the middle of the night. There were fours apartments to a floor(I think) and there was one central thermostat for the entire floor that everyone had access to.
Everyone on the floor was a foreign teacher from my school, except for on Adjosshi. He would crank it full blast after we all went to bed. Each night I would wake up drenched in sweat and go turn it off. This was also just outside of summer....late Spring or early Autumn. It got so hot my coteacher's plants died. She just couldn't keep them alive due to the heat.

| I'm still looking for these Koreans with hoodies, jackets, and winter coats that you guys keep talking about. Not saying you haven't seen any, but I enjoyed a lovely day out at the park today, and just about everyone had on short sleeve shirts and shorts. |

I'm in Daejeon.
All I can tell you is that loads of guys are wearing the fitted dress shirts that are so popular. I saw a girl walking with a baseball cap and hoodie with the hood pulled up over her head. As soon as I saw that I checked the temp. 27 degrees! She seemed completely comfortable walking around outside like that. As I was walking back to my apartment around midnight saw another guy wearing a thick hoodie. I was in a t shirt and shorts and finally started to feel fairly comfortable. If I had to walk any further I probably would have started to heat up though.
I live in the trendy/rich area though. Perhaps if I was hanging out down by the riverside it would be a different story.
Still...t shirt and shorts or pants and dress shirt. They seem fine in either.
Oh...I also saw a few guys wearing sweaters and cardigans. Midday! |

We saw them all over Seoul the past few days, even with the temps over 30C. |

ive seen them in seoul and ilsan. it started about two weeks ago, and its mostly the younger crowd - perhaps theyre just excited about wearing their new fall clothes?
i cant even wear jeans and a t-shirt yet. i tried, and i felt my pants sticking to the back of my thighs and the mid to lower half of the back of my shirt visibly drenched in sweat. not cute.
i cant wait for the cold. ive been here long enough to know how bad it gets, but this summers humidity has been unbearable. |

Ya, no doubt some of them must be suffering a bit for the sake of fashion. But they can pull it off. I'd be soaked through.
These Koreans are physiologically gifted. |

Stayed at my girlfriend's parents' house over the Chuseok, sleeping on this heated rocks bed. F***ing l.... My girlfriend keeps it "on" all year around, even if it's 40, because she likes it "warm." 
On a side note, Koreans' ability to sleep on floors, or any other uncushioned surfaces, is equally impressive. |

I have. I even saw some flip-flops, and it's relatively cold for Korea where I live.
PS. You do realize that the weather varies greatly in Korea, right? At this time of year, people still go swimming at the beach on Jeju. |

It is amazing. I'm in Spain and the other day found myself going, "ooh definitely not too hot to walk to work this afternoon", it was 33 degrees (but no humidity, korean humidity I do not miss!) I just bought a beautiful coat and am a little bit sad I won't be wearing it for at least another six or eight weeks! Koreans are probably just excited to wear their new autumn gear 
I plan on being in Seoul by January and I don't know how I'll cope... |
