Why are the recruiters, and the school so picky with hire Englsh Teachers?
Why are the Immigration offices in Korea demand a FBI check with and Apostille stamp? Isn't the FBI check a fedeal document?
Why does Korea punish all of Foriegn Teachers for a small amount of assholes who break the law. That's communism to me.
5 years ago I just had to get a background check CRC state check.
We are teaching kids, We are not terroist. That what the Korean education system is doing.
There law is stupid, Most of the English Teachers are no rapist,or murders, so why these hilter type laws???
Can anyone tell me??? |

As a fellow Academy owner, I completely agree with you! In my experience (in our little area of Korea), parents no longer dump their kids at English schools - they now expect and demand quality education, and they monitor their children's progress. Also, i think they want their kids home at an earlier time than parent's did 10 years ago. The net effect of this is fewer schools which means fewer jobs. Couple this with the fact that more and more Korean university graduates have spent significant time abroad and thus are able to better teach English, and you can clearly see that the role of the NET is diminishing. Personally, I stopped hiring NET's and now hire only Korean teachers. On a side note, it's not about money but education as many of KET's now demand as much as an e-2.
I think this is the era of the small owner operator schools.
Another area that I think may be popular, but not too profitable, is teaching the retired. I don't do it yet, but it does intrigue me. |
As an Fellow Academy Owner, why do you discriminate against minorities teachers in Korea, when you post, "Looking for white american", or I like this one the most. "Look for blonde hair blue eyed white girl" you don't think that these kinds of people might be potential rapist or murderers, or pedifiles??
If you posted crap like that on the job post trying to hire teachers in America, your ass would be sued, for racial discrimination. Or they would burn your school down!!!
Can you tell me why do you judge how a person looks??
Whyare you scared of the parents? Most of them are supid and ignorant. Why do you act like slaves to them??
Tell me the truth, why do you discriminate towards Minority Teachers that teach or are looking for jobs in Korea, why??

No, I don't provide them with an apartment or a return ticket, but saving money was not my motive. I just couldn't risk my business with hiring a bad NET. Upon re-reading, I guess in a way it was. |

Well, don't feel so bad. I'm still paying on mine. The won tanking in 2008 reduced my abilities greatly. But, it's getting there. |
