Human consumption of insects is expected to ( and should ) increase in the future. I put silkworms in soup and have grasshoppers, locusts and other insects as a dried anju. I don't understand the degree of cultural imperialism that presumes that things that arent popular in the "West" will be abandoned by these poor benighted foreigners as soon as the become more "modernized". I expect the Japanese to be giving up sushi any day now.

Hot 고추's and coke with a student while he was helping me in my office with a computer problem. It started out just to be what was supposed to be sweet peppers (the ones they call cucumber flavor) 오이 고추. But then they started to get hotter and hotter Shocked , so I got a couple of cans of coke to help wash them down. Turned out to be a nice combo, and my student thought so too. It was the first time for both of us to ever have that. I highly recommend it.

I had leftovers again.

What do the silkworm pupae taste like? I'd like to try one, but I just don't want to buy a whole can to find out whether or not I like them.

On its own they taste like dried meat, only softer. Canned ones are marinated in soy sauce. Smile

That sounds really good, actually. I think I'll buy a can and eat them while I watch football games this coming weekend.

Don't buy the canned bun-dae-gi. Get the dried ones in the open market.
