Yeah. Get a maple leaf sewn on the mask.

You are a very unpleasant type of person, aren't you? Intervening to help a woman being battered falls under the category of 'save-a-ho'? I'm sure your mother, sisters and girlfriend (as if) would be proud of you. And the "stanking looking esl teacher" just makes you an idiot.

I get a strong feeling from your posts that you are an emotionally under-developed sixteen year old. And if you're not, well that's just sad.

You don't know the half of it. He's trapped in Korea after marrying an ajumma who threatens him with divorce if he uses the internet too much. He loathes his life and so has made various forum accounts and also posts in some sports forum where he pretends to be a military attache/weapons dealer/spy who has weekly meetings with Barrack Obama. It's beyond sad. It's sociopathic.

And you wouldn't know any of that if it weren't for me.

You're welcome.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I was told by my friends and coworkers that I did the correct thing. It was definitely a very difficult thing to do. I don't like to just walk away when I see a woman getting her ass kicked. In America I might have intervened. Then again I don't know if I would want to be involved. There are a lot of crazy people with guns. Shocked

It's a shame that I wasn't in Texas. I could have shot first and asked questions later! Very Happy

I would think simply restraining someone from doing harm to another person wouldn't be too risky, eh?

But yes, I agree with the video recording idea. Put it on the Web and the effect will be far more potent.

Not unless another Korean or preferably, several Koreans wants to join in and help me with the restraining.

Or to fear the worst, some assault could be a result of a 'misunderstanding' but the assaulter claims the big bad foreigner intentionally injured him while being restrained and demands to be taken to a hospital to run a myriad of scans, which don't need doing. The police who feel they must do something to settle the situation, suggests that the big bad foreigner settles financially with the original assaulter to make it better for everyone. A scenario that could likely happen?

I would do this, not the above.

Best course of action is a calling the cops or calling a Korean friend who can call the cops.

Let the police intervene and avoid trying to play street justice superhero.

Anyway, as is your MO, you've taken one sentence out of context and applied your own meaning to it to fit into your victimization complex again. I was talking about one specific thing and used the word "seem", implying that it wasn't a fact. But it doesn't matter to you. Every white person in Korea is out to get Koreans at every turn and Koreans can do no wrong. If a Korean man is beating on a Korean woman then she must be a criminal who deserves it. Love how you'll claim Korea has no crime or drugs in other posts, but in this particular case where it suits your agenda suddenly there are crack hoes on every corner that deserve a beating.

Really? I claim Korea has no crime or drugs? Please cite examples with links.

As for taking things out of context and applying labels, please lets not act like that doesn't happen to people's portrayal of Koreans on this board.

What does me being a temporary labourer have anything to do with it? Actually, the fact that I can move overseas and live a good life would indicate a higher maturity level.

So you, the employee, who comes over to a country whose culture you seem to disdain, and have no political action available to change that, but constantly harp about it on web sites, are more mature than say the people who own your hagwon, the millions of elderly, business owners, executives, researchers, engineers, laborers, etc. All because they are Korean?

And sorry, "seems"? If someone said "It seems like NETs stop maturing around the age of 15" you would be all over that and rightly so.

1) Don't think you're being clever by accusing me of something by putting the word "seem" in there to try to rile me up and then call me a hypocrite by then saying, "I said SEEM!".

2) I know I have no political power here and I've accepted it. What does that have to do with me going to a message board dedicated to expats living in Korea and talking about living in Korea as an expat?

3) I said moving overseas requires a certain level of maturity. You really try hard to make everything us vs Korea and then accuse the other person of starting it. So only Westerners move overseas? No Koreans ever have? And every single Westerner has moved overseas? No, but in your simple mind everything is us vs Korea. Don't put that on me.

4) "It seems like everyone and their brother was at the mall today!"=/="I believe that literally every single person on Earth and their fictional sibling was at once in the shopping complex this afternoon. Literally."

I'm tired of getting involved in arguments over such commonly understood semantics with you apologists. No one talks like a robot like you demand. But you know that. You're just trying to have a "gotcha!" moment. I don't care. Yes, I believe every single Korean magically stops maturing at the age of 15. I believe in this miracle of science because it validates my hatred of Korea and Koreans which is evidenced through my objection to a man beating up a woman. You've caught me. Finally! All these years me talking about how great it is to be an expat in Korea was all a ruse because I never fully accepted everything 100% with eyes wide shut while admitting the Korean is the height of humanity. Now that you've caught me, I'll help you scour the pages of the internet to attack anyone who might say anything that might be conceived in the slightest way, if you read it with a closed mind and an agenda in hand, to be negative about Korea. I will attack them personally, I will shut down the conversation by using the "R" word non-stop and I will post 1500 word essays every 5 minutes. You can take a night off, SR. The internet will be safe from the unfair hatred of people who just don't love Korea enough!

Dude, just don't say stuff like "Seems like Koreans stop maturing at 15".

As I said, if someone said that about NETs, you wouldn't stand for it. Be mature and don't say that stuff about Koreans, even if you are frustrated about them. Otherwise, don't complain when people take exception.

I noticed he doesn't mention his "smoking hot wife" anymore, after I exposed his wife as the over the hill ajumma she is.

First of all, please don't tell me what I would and wouldn't stand for. Second, "people" didn't complain. You did. You always do. And then you say "people" have a problem with it. No. Just you. You have a problem with everything.
