Quote:
Police alleged the man exposed his genitals to two teenage girls playing on a slide in a playground at the start of the year.

He was also accused of trying to kiss the hands of a teenage girl riding a bicycle nearby.

The man had already been in jail on a two-year sentence for sexually abusing a minor in 2010. This time, he was charged with sexual abuse and public obscenity.

But Seoul Central District Court ruled on Friday that there was no evidence he intended sexual abuse or that he had behaved obscenely in public.

“There appears to be no reason to challenge the fact that he was merely trying to urinate while walking around the neighborhood,” the court said.

In the US, he probably wouldn't even be allowed in such an area with his history.

He'll have a job as one of those "security guards" at the front gate of the local elementary school by next spring. A third rate slum this place is.

Korea: Still miles behind the civilized world. But I guess these things happen in Canada and America too, so maybe not.

In America he'd be forced to stay outside of so many yards from a school

So don't compare America to this slum. Korea is closer to Somalia in terms of justice than it is America.

He would have to stay at least 100 yards or even more away from the school. In some cases sexual predators can't even be in neighborhoods where children live. He would also have his picture posted on a state sexual predator website.

But this thread is attracting Korea bashing trolls. Why the need for that?

Because Korean law allows these creeps to get off lightly/receive no punishment because they are Korean males, and that thus implies that Koreans are fine with lenient punishments for child molesters - I mean come on, are we meant to be supportive of Korea in this? It's absolutely vile and disgusting and not a sign of a civilized nation.

You're correct. He's probably been doing this for a long time and the neighborhood parents finally got the police to do something about him, but a judge then gives him the benefit of a doubt that he plainly doesn't deserve. Oh, but if a parent was on trial for knocking the sicko into next week, for exposing himself to children, the same judge go to the max to punish the parent.

That's exactly how I feel. And I'd be the parent "dumb" enough to KO this guy and not apologize.
