There's only one Ssangyong-dong, just so you know, but it's rather large!

In a way, you're right, but if you tell a taxi driver to take you to Ssangyongdong, they're probably going to ask you which one. It's broken up into two different divisions, which are cleverly named Ssangyong-1dong and Ssangyong-2dong. I don't know which is which, but the area around Magnet is one of them, and the area around Bongseo Middle School is the other. It's pretty confusing.

mog: Yea, it's on the 3rd floor. You'll get a stunning view of a parking lot and somebody's garden, and then a high-rise apartment complex.

Let's see...stuff in the area. There's a pizza joint a fair walk away called "Pizza Etang" where the couple speaks English quite well (even though ordering pizza in Korean is easy anyways). I couldn't explain how to get there, though. There's a gym that's sort of catty corner from Athena, and the owner there speaks some basic English, if you're into going to the gym. There's a little mountain a few streets farther back(turn left as you leave Athena) with a few trails on it, if you're into that. There's also a movie/DVD shop as you head in that direction, though the DVDs are an expensive rental compared to another place that I went. There's plenty of great lunch shops right along that road that Athena is on, where you can pop in and get a variety of cheap foods. There's even a bowling alley above the pharmacy and Baskin Robbin's at the corner of the big main road, but I never went in there.

The only real problem with the area is that all of the PC bang are just horrible. The only one that was remotely decent closed down. You have to go elsewhere for stylish PC rooms.

Well, I made it to Cheonan and made it through the first week. Still don't know my way around, though. My apartment is on the other side of the middle school, "about ten blocks down" as was said earlier. Actually, I live right near the "Who bar" if anyone cares.

I'd love to be able to meet one of you guys and also show me around a little bit. Please PM me if you're available.

Hey Mog! Welcome! Glad you made it here ok, and even more importantly, glad you made it through the first week. ha ha. Smile

What hours are you working? Possibly my husband or I could show you around a bit to help get your feet on the ground. I'm not sure where that bar is, though. Do you know how to get to E-Mart or Lotte Mart? Both of those are less than 15 min for me to walk to.

We're usually free before 2 pm every day, but we aren't early morning people. Cool
