Yes it is indeed sad. Dan trolls another board called Anger Sports where he claims he's a top secret agent for the US military, works at the embassy, briefs Obama once a week, and makes 250k. I am not making this up. Dan's latest antics, trying to make a US government document on Microsoft Paint to make it look like he's a "BIG DOG" in his words, only to get laughed at everyone. What an idiot. |

If you were gone for 6 or 7 years or even 10 years or longer, we'd be more likely to inform you of the changes. But being gone for a year or two doesn't really qualify. I doubt much has changed in such a short time. People in Korea have gotten a bit friendlier and a bit less xenophobic. Though it still ebbs it's ugly head every now and then. Overall, welcome back. |

I did a similar thing myself. My advice, which I strongly recommend following, is to have a plan in hand before going back to Korea. I took the GRE, applied for schools etc. before leaving the States. I boarded the flight with all my ducks in a row and it made my return to Korea much better. I knew what I was going back to, I just didnt know exactly where it would be. I honestly felt a bit silly coming back and showing my face and getting the 'you're back' glance. Sure it was great to see friends again but it helped my self steem a lot knowing that I had my applications set, just waiting on responses.
Just my 2 cents. |
