Hi, everyone.
So I have read several posts in this forum about the medical exam but none of them were specific enough to tell me exactly what the medical exam consists of. I even found stuff online where a young lady translated her medical exam results but there were several parts that she couldn't translate. Does anyone know exactly what the medical exam consists of? I would love to teach overseas but I don't want to be offered a position then sent home unexpectedly. |

The whole thing is an excuse to do an HIV/AIDS blood test and a urine test for drugs. Those are the two things that can send you home if you fail. They do other stuff but it's pretty unimportant and unless you're clearly super-unhealthy they won't send you back. Here's what I recall other than the blood test and the urine test:
- chest xray...I guess don't come to orientation with tuberculosis or pneumonia
- vision and hearing test
- blood pressure test (you can get a talking to if yours is high, but they won't send you home...don't come with 200/100 blood pressure though!)
- height and weight measurement |
