Can anyone recommend a hotel / motel in the greater Itaewon area that is both relatively cheap and clean? A friend in Busan wants to meet up in Seoul and stay the weekend. I have no ideas about Seoul hotels / motels, so if anyone is in the know I'd appreciate your recommendation.
Cheers. |

| Don't waste your money on hotels in Itaeweon. Do a quick search on my user name here and you'll see a recent post in which I recommended a yeogwan near Seoul Station. That's close enough to Itaeweon for most purposes. The yeogwan is cheap, it's clean, and it's convenient. |

| Kaya and Rainbow hotels by Namyeong station are great. Itaewon is so overpriced. Also a ton of love hotels in the Namyeong, Samgakji stations area you just have to look around on the back streets. Finally if you insist on staying close to Itaewon, there is a motel on the main drag in Haebongchon |

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. Centralcali, those were excellent directions to the yeogwan. Good of you to take the time to post that information for others. Hogwanguy, how much is the hotel in HBC, and what's it's state of cleanliness? Do you know its name?.
Cheers to both. |

Don't know the name of the hotel here in HBC but its right above El Mato restaurant. have had friends stay there they say its clean and around 30k but don't come here this weekend with the HBC fest going on, it will be right in the middle of the insanity and I bet they triple the price |

| Well, the Banyan Tree Club isn't far, why not go there and enjoy their reasonable rates |

Christ, I checked it. They want 6,600,000 won? Surely that must be a membership fee. Even a millionaire would be a fool to pay that much for a room for a single night (in friggin' Seoul). |

lol. he's just jerking your chain. the banyan tree is a chain of 5-star hotels found in the most desirable locations in the world and cost more per nite than many teachers make in a week.
that said, the ip boutique hotel is a real answer to your question. it's one of the cheaper "nice" and clean hotels in itaewon. |

Too expensive. Their cheapest rooms are still over $200. He's likely looking to pay less than half of that. |
