HA!
Amerikans went full retard a long time ago. Bunch of freakin' weirdos. |
We all hear you Dude! Just think about the Aircon, the Apple computers and PC's, the internet, the physics gathered from wind tunnels, the industry that defeated the Axis (90% of it American origin)........................you're not speaking German or Japanese or worse.
It's all inconsequential though. |
Does he thank you? Someone who contributed naught to all of the above. |
What qualities exactly has KimchiNinja or for that fact you contributed to make your countries or countrymen better than my country and Americans, because these remarks disrespecting Americans seem to be coming out frequently. Saying I'm better because I'm not this or that isn't saying much. People who come out and say I'm better than them because I'm from such and such usually aren't. Yet I'm hearing this stuff all the time. |

See how we don't do that though? See that I don't expect other nationalities to pay homage or to thank me for things that I have had no involvement in? I don't expect anyone's gratitude for the spread of the evolution and spread of English, the abolition of modern slavery in the Americas, the invention of the television and the telephone, the splitting of the atom etc etc. I don't think my countrymen are better than Americans as then I would be as absurd as you.
I do understand that you were bullied by a gang of British teachers in Thailand because they wouldn't share their meat pies with you at lunchtime in the staffroom, if it makes you feel any better, I would have given you a bite of my meat pie. |

And after all that, they are bankrupt. |

America has its bottom feeders, like every country does. But it usually comes out reasonably well. Think, APPLE, Noble Prize Winners (including this year), recent summer games held here in Korea, the Olympics, Space Program, ... and on and on...
American media tends to bash the country and the country tends to down play itself. It does appear to be headed down hill. But there are still a lot of positive things there. |

All those things you have just mentioned, you had no hand in, how would I feel about taking some kind of reflected glory over the nobel prize award for Peter Higgs? Just because we share the same passport? A bit of a prat, that's what.
Are you and Young Clinton going to take your share of responsibility for Iraq? School of the Americas? Vietnam? The 50 year blockade on Cuba? The assassination of various democratic leaders in Latin America?
Thought not. |

I never mentioned or claimed I had a hand in any of the things. General statement. I even through in that America had its bottom feeders as well as its achievers.
Chip on your shoulder, PAL? |

| Some of us are more evolved and don't identify with imaginary groups. You people get so defensive about "your" country; clouds ones judgement. |

The US doesn't have any Noble Prize winners, mostly because we don't have any officially sanctioned aristocracy. But if we did........ |

Let's take it a step further and throw identity out the window entirely. Why should I accept that a colony composed of clearly distinct cells is a single thing to which identity ought to be attributed? Throw away the "we," but toss the "me" out the window along with it. |

Well yeah, that's interesting.
But most humans are not very evolved and are followers. Individuals in a tribe tend to follow cultural practices and ways of thinking characteristic of that tribe. In their minds there is a "we" and "them". |

| All you foreigners are just jealous of the great deals we Americans can get at Wal-Mart at 3 in the morning. Who needs a job or an edumacation or a roof over your head when you can get a six-pack of tube socks for $1.99. |

But people like us exist to serve as a contrast to the brightness that people like you exude. That is why you have appeared to us on this board. The conditions here on the board provide a darkness and make the radiance emanating from you so much more intense for all to see. Does not everybody see that? |
