|

On the EPIK application it says to provide 2 letters of recommendation. I have one of them from a professor at my university and I was hoping that I could get another from my internship that I worked at for over a year.
Unfortunately what they said is that their policy is that they don't give reference letters talking about job performance. The only thing they can provide me with is just a record of employment that says I worked there for a year and what my responsibilities were and they will just put my supervisors contact information at the bottom.
This doesn't seem to fit the guidelines of the EPIK reference letter so what should I do?? |

They strongly prefer letters from different places, but it's not required. If you can't get another from some other place, just get one from another prof. |

Yeah it's annoying how it's more common these days that corporate employers will refuse to give a proper reference. Basically it's because they don't want to be sued for giving a bad reference. You'd think they could waive that for an internship, but businesses these days are crybabies.
Anyway, yeah, get two professor letters. I got two from the college I went to for my BA, I graduated like 12 years ago, ancient history, but they remembered me and wrote me nice letters. Got in through EPIK and currently teaching in "sparkling" rural Korea. |

What a bunch of flakes.
You could go to Bangkok and do a TEFL course and get recommendations from the TEFL director or instructors. I don't know what else to recommend. |
