Actually today I found out I am being transfered to seoul. The adult student may have something to do with this. I'll see if she shows up today. |
If this is actually true, she may very well have had something to do with it.
AND... her version may be very different from reality. In her version, you likely tricked her, took advantage of her, and pinned her down in the classroom and demanded she give herself to you right then and there.
AND WORSE... you may likely never hear her version as management may not offer it up to you. They probably took her side as gospel. Maybe you can at least share the real version with them and hope some of it sticks?
On the other hand, did you really kiss in a classroom? Hmm... sketchy move. That's just playing with fire. Seems you didn't handle things very well on a number of levels, but then again, we don't know the whole story (hint!).... |

The camera in the corner of the classroom saved me. I never heard her side of the story and the director is acting sketchy after the incident. Originally the director told me the hagwon was shutting down and then she said I was getting transfered to Seoul.
I don't know why the adult student acted like this. You would think an adult would act like an adult. My feeling is she was their to find a foreign boyfriend rather than study English. |

Half the time adults don't act like adults anyway.
As far as the director is concerned, even the best version of the story is bad. You got involved with a student, on school grounds. Unless the woman literally was crazy and constantly stalking you, it's going to seem like you played some part in this whole thing.
I've had similar things happen in classes and they can spin out of control fast. Just being friendly can be taken the wrong way, then emotions start burning and then the gossip mill starts churning, even if you didn't do anything. Sometimes you just have to recognize a potential problem before it becomes one. Avoiding racy topics, not being overly friendly, not giving them too much info about yourself, etc. helps a lot.
Although, sometimes there's nothing you can do. When a woman feels burned, she'll just start making stuff up sometimes to burn you back. This goes double in Korea, where the "truth" is completely malleable. |

| I would always be concerned about why she wanted a relationship with an ESL teacher, unless you're just plain good looking. Could it be free lessons or maybe you'll change her grades? Gold digging in women is also a real problem, as if an ESL teacher had any money anyway other than quick money. |
