Hello! I hope I'm posting this in the right part of the forum. I have been looking for a job starting in Spring 2014, and a recruiter just told me that starting then, most schools will be requiring teachers to pay for the cost of the flight to Seoul, and will only be covering the flight home. Has anyone else come across this? I taught in Korea a few years ago, and I definitely never heard that one before.

Yea its called your recruited is FOS. So either do what all of the other beta teachers do here and pay your own way (only to get screwed like 99% of teachers) or grow a pair like I do and dont take no for an answer.

Public schools reimburse. Hagwons pay in advance. Don't work at a hagwon that won't pay for your flight.

Ttompatz and Porksta, thanks! That's kind of what I was assuming, but I wanted to make sure things hadn't completely changed in my two years away.
