Why not pay the loan? That is the honest thing to do.

He's not an honest man, so why would you expect him to do the honest thing? His university attendance in Canada are the only reason he was able to enter either Korea or Australia, and in return for the Canadian people's incredible generosity towards him (and yes, investing over a hundred thousand dollars -- to say nothing of primary or secondary education -- in someone who literally provided less than no societal value before bailing on the nation is generous) he hopes systematic economic collapse upon them.

The student loan system is an evil system that continually diminishes the value of higher education and undercuts the prospects of people that are actually smart. Then on top of that it perpetually increases tuition each year. It's pure evil and I hope we can one day look back at it imploding a learn a lesson.

"My decision to push the burden for my hundred thousand dollars in education costs onto the Canadian people is a moral crusade!"

No point in justifying your dishonest parasitism to me, fellow. We both know all you care about here is the cash, and sounds like you've got it (through the wonder of governmental pharmaceuticals regulation no less, you socialist you).

screw you, fox.

There's not much I do but take advantage of these pre-existing government interference of the free market and hand outs. What am I supposed to do? Just lie on the ground and die? Maybe I should opt out of medicare too (even though I'm obligated pay into it with taxes?)

The only thing that is dishonest here is legally extorting and stealing money from people and redistributing it in disastrous ways and calling that a virtue.

Maybe Canadians need to wise up to parasites like myself and finally shrug - if they can. I dare them, I double-dare them.

That's what you should've said.

Pay back money you borrowed in accordance with your pledge of repayment. If you do not, you prove me correct: it's all about the cash. If on the other hand you do, you will have regained some shred of dignity and your currently hypocritical complaints would sound less hollow and self-serving.

Do you really want to be the guy who defrauded his homeland for some easy cash for the rest of your life? I'm not just mocking you here. It took you just two responses to get sharp with me, so whatever you may say, you know it's not right. Do the honest thing now and you'll be unburdened in a far more important way.

Defrauded? You mean from the government-backed student loan lenders that legally extorted and stole the money in question to begin with? It's payback. It's poetic justice - if there ever existed such a thing.

You are giving way too much credit to the intellectual standing of average Canadians. They know nothing about what taxes really are, the consequences government-backed student loans have. They don't have the faintest clue of the victims it creates while falsely believing it gives opportunity. How can you defend an institution that's defrauded and destroyed the lives of so many people? How?

I really do believe that you are misguided, just like all other libs. I don't for a second think that what I'm doing is in any way shape or form wrong. I'm voting with my money and I vote to let this loan program collapse. Why would I perpetuate something I really believe is evil? If I was a multimillionaire I still wouldn't pay off a dime. Drop dead and good riddance I say.

Yep. I had two majors and they're both on the list (philo and hist). And yeah, finding full-time employment back here has been a challenge.
