I applied through Korea Horizons - I was told that I could get an EPIK or GEPIK position but that all the SMOE positions for Feb/March had already been filled.

I'm sure he wasn't lying to me, but I just find it hard to believe that March is 4+ months away and there are no public school positions in Seoul left.

Is this normal? Is there any chance that I can find a public school job for Feb/March in Seoul?

Alistair isn't lying. Seoul is a heavily wanted area and there's an extremely limited amount of positions available there. A lot of teachers re-sign there a lot, meaning it's even harder to find a position.

If I were you, I'd see if there's anything in Incheon, as it's a nice city and is relatively close to Seoul, but that's up to you.

I went through Korean Horizons as well, and they're upfront. He's not lying to you.

That doesn't make sense to me. There's no way EPIK has filled all the Seoul positions yet. The Seoul documents just got released like 3 days ago so I don't think EPIK has even received anyone's document package for Seoul yet. I just sent my documents today and I'm applying for Seoul. I was interviewed the second day of interviews for EPIK and I had to wait like 3 weeks for the Seoul documents. What Alistair may have meant is that it's too late to start the process for Seoul because by the time you get through it they will be filled up.

However, at this point if you wanna work in Seoul you better find a respectable hagwon or resign yourself to teaching in somewhere other than Seoul - you won't find a job in Incheon through EPIK this year either, but you could talk directly to Incheon I think.
