my god man. for the things you've mentioned get ilsan out of your mind. it's not what you are looking for. as i and others have already mentioned for your list of slightly unrealstic requirements, bundang wins by a landslide. if you really plan on being in itaewon that often i'd suggest just living there with all the other clueless foreigners.

Seriously. From the sounds of it the guy has never been to Korea yet chooses to ignore all suggestions from people on the board because he's set on going to Ilsan.

If you're this particular about things OP I foresee a difficult time in Korea for you.

I am not ignoring anything. All I want is a contrast between entertainment in Bundang vs Ilsan. Everyone is mentioning which one is closer to Seoul but I did not ask for that.

I don't think I am asking for a lot. From what I have seen/read Bundang already has the cleaner air, newer apartments, and nature. All I am asking is if there is a place that is like Bundang except a little bit better nightlife or entertainment. I am not someone who parties frequently so I don't need entertainment like Seoul but just an area that draws a significant number of people.

From what I am reading in other threads and on youtube, Ilsan and Anyang seems to be what I am looking for so I was wondering if people could comment on that.

You were asking for combination of things that nobody in Korea has. Well, that is what usually means by 'asking a lot'. FYI, Ilsan and Anyang has terrific bad air and they are boring places. Basically, if Bundang is not good enough for you, then no place in Korea is good enough for you. Laughing

Ilsan rates a 6.5 for entertainment while Bundang rates a 6.1 on a scale of 10. Trust me. I have done extensive research. So Ilsan is undoubtedly the place for you.

None of the suburban satellite cities are going to have a ton of entertainment options compared to Seoul. Having said that, I have met a lot of people who lived in Bundang and enjoyed it quite a lot. There are a few foreigner bars down there and more than enough "regular" restaurants and drinking establishments to keep your interest at least some of the time. I understand that Ilsan has a few of these places, too, but I think you'd just be better off working in Bundang.

All else equal, I'd take Bundang over Ilsan, but they're comparable enough that it's probably more important to focus on which school contract is the more desirable.
