Hey, guys!
Just wondering if anyone has a video surveillance at home and if you did it yourself or did you turn to any special security company? I’m actually going to do it myself, so now I’m trying to choose the software for my CCTV. Read so much about DIY surveillance systems already, and now choosing between Xeoma and Zoneminder…Or maybe you strongly recommend anything else?
Thanks in advance! |

Hey, I'm planning out a system now and will be using SecuritySpy on a Mac. In my cursory research I've seen fans for both options you're looking at on Windows, so you probably can't go wrong choosing based on features.
What cameras did you get? That was the hard part for me.. they come at all price points depending on what you need and don't. Example: I need a dome, POE, H264 out, onboard backup and a mic, but don't need outdoor rating, PZT, wireless, remote viewing or low lux. I settled on the Vivotek FD8162.
I’ll be using a bunch of cameras and will do the install and networking myself. Should be fun. |
