I recently got an e-mail from EPIK saying that I passed the first phase and will have an interview this week. I'm really happy because I didn't expect this (they said they would reply in 2 weeks but it's been a month) but now I'm worried because I don't have my criminal background check for this year yet. It will probably take another month and my worst fear is for me to get the job but have it taken away because I don't have my CBC yet.
I'm working in Korea now, so maybe I don't even need one for next year. My contract ends in January and an EPIK job would start in March. Does anyone know what date I would need to submit all of my documents by? Do I even need a new CBC since I have one from last year and have been in Korea for 10 months? |

If you're doing main intake - January 20th. I don't think you need a new CRC unless you leave Korea for an extended period of time (like 90 days). If you pass your interview you can ask your coordinator later. |

Thanks so much for the reply! I guess I was stressing out about this for no reason. |

Sure, no problem. Keep in mind though that the sooner you get your documents in the more likely you are to get a placement you want. That said, if you don't care where you teach then it doesn't matter. I would expect applications for a lot of places to stop within the next month though. I am also not entirely sure if January 20th is the total deadline for your documents or just the final date to get any remaining documents to them (like diplomas, final transcripts, etc). They need your initial document package to recommend you to a MOE/POE.
If you pass your interview just ask your coordinator any questions you have. That's what they're there for. They'll also know much more than I do |
