Are Koreans scared of white people? I'm a big guy 6'2 and 190 pounds but my friends are shorter and lighter. I've noticed some Koreans walking on the side walk cross the road when they see me coming down the side walk. My friend and I played a game where when a person does the abrupt side walk switch we also switch side walk sides. We freaked out this one woman as she stopped half way and went back to the initial side and my friend and I did the same. She started to cry like we were going to harm her. Is this normal for Koreans to try and avoid white people?

Well, I think making people feel foolish is not a nice thing to do. Making old women suffer is a bad thing to do. You should stop doing that. Cool

She was in her 20s or 30s. Twisted Evil It bothers me that people avoid my friends and I based on our skin color. I see all people as equal and base my relationships on personality. Racism is stupid we are all people.

Good thing is that you've decided to do something about discrimination. Bad things is that your approach is unfriendly to say the least, and has a good chance of landing you in hospital. Cool

OP, what makes you think it's because of your skin colour? The times i have seen Koreans (only women from my experience) do that type of thing is if they are alone and i've seen it happen to avoid Koreans too... I have asked many girls about this and the general reply i got was down to safety or being creeped out by the guy. So yes, if you look/act like a creep, it's possible that they will feel intimidated. From what you wrote, you and your friend were being pretty creepy.

Or maybe you're just ugly
Very Happy

This^^

Between this, the story about women hitting on you on the subway and the hogwan chick stalking you, your substance is lacking.

Maybe my experiences in Korea are more than just sitting at a desk and teaching 24/7

From a historical perspective they should be scared.

The native people don't tend to to well once the Europeans arrive Smile

When I was in Korea I watched two scraps between Koreans and foreigners (both white).

The foreigner lost both times. In fair fights, too.

So no, I don't think Koreans are "scared" of white people lol.

190 @ 6'2" is not "big" by any means. Slightly taller than average but not "big".

I'd say a good 220 @ 6'2" would be more fitting of that adjective.

Koreans or Asians in general are not scared of white people. If anything, they merely find them intriguing. Kind of like when you encounter a species of animal or bug you seldom see.

And just because a white person/foreigner is bigger doesn't mean you'll automatically instill more fear- maybe just more intrigue.

Just view all the video clips posted on youtube of fights involving Asians and non-Asians. They're usually labeled "Asian vs ___ " or "Asians vs _____s". They're usually street fights or rumbles in America involving an Asian(s) vs whites/latinos/blacks/arabs etc. and despite being smaller, the Asian or Asians usually whoop the non-Asians, a lot of times resulting in knock outs.

Nonsense. In Asia they will gang up on a white guy, that much is true, which equates to cowardice or Russian Neo-Nazi-esque tactics.
