|
|
| After reading some past posts, I've noticed that some people have mentioned that if you leave a job before 6 months, a letter of release will not be enough to transfer your E2 to another job. I'm highly considering leaving after two months and giving my month's notice (as stated in my contract) for my own reasons, but would hope to get a letter of release to go back to an old job. I realize that receiving a letter of release after so short a time is highly unlikely, in which case it'll be bye bye Korea. But should I work a miracle and get one, I just want to know if that would be enough for immigration to transfer it another E2, even if I quit before 6 months. The policy seems to change so much that it's hard to keep track. |

| Try to find someone to replace you, and you'll be more likely to receive that LoR |

| Ok, thanks. I definitely plan to offer to help find a replacement. Anyone with info regarding whether immigration will approve of a letter of release after only a month or two on the job? Or are letters of release only approved after 6 months of working on a contract? I'd hate to quit and get hired at another school, only to be denied the visa transfer due to not knowing the time frame that the transfer is available for. Thanks. |

What day of the week you apply, whether the immigration officer had his morning coffee and whether he got laid last night are more relevant to your application for an early transfer (with a LOR) than how long you worked at the job before your LOR.

| Haha! Thanks ttompatz. That's what I kind of figured. Guess I can take my chances and if for whatever reason it doesn't work, then I guess I'll have to cut Korea short this time around. |
