I met a buddy of mine in Itaewon yesterday and decided to try out Tabom for the first time. They still had the 9,990 won lunch special, but I wish I hadn't even paid that much for it.
The "salad bar" was laughable. Mixed greens with your choice of 2 creamy dressings (this was the only edible thing), marinated onions, rice, beans, pesto pasta or the mystery soup dish. At least, I think it was soup, but there were no soup bowls.
A poster above mentioned 4 meats, but I only received 3 (no chicken for me) and they were all just slightly above room temperature. I assume they didn't keep them hot for fear of overcooking them and drying them out. Bad idea. Room temp meat is not great. Anyway...
First was the pork and it was a huge hunk of fat. I'm not exaggerating. There was more fat than meat. The seasoning on it was ok, but globbed on in the middle between the fat and meat part, which was a little dry. Next was the sausage and it was decent, I'll admit, but nothing you couldn't get at Costco and grill yourself at home. The steak was next and, while marinated quite well, it was over-cooked to hell and back. They also refused to take a temperature for a 2nd steak piece. Lastly was the pineapple. After I scraped off some of the brown sugar it was better, but still super-super sweet to the point I didn't even want a 2nd piece.
The icing on the cake: the bathroom was flooded with about 3cm of water. While they could have been waiting for someone to come fix it, certainly no one came for the hour and a half I was there. And the staff didn't bother to try and plunge the drain, mop up the water, or assist in this matter in any way. Yes, I informed them about the flooding.
Sao Paulo puts this place to shame! While I haven't tried the other Brazilian steakhouses in Itaewon, I would recommend taking a trip over to Haehwa or Myeong-dong before eating this crap. |

| Is the lunch special unlimited? Or just four servings of meat (and unlimited salad bar?)? |

I walked by yesterday and the banner advertising the lunch special was still out, said nothing about it being a summer-only thang. Only posted on here because it was the only thread about this steak joint, so thought someone might know. |
