However, there are rumors that the pilots might have been compelled to make the flight because they were scheduled to pick up senior LG executives at the heliport to a factory in Jeonju, more than 200 kilometers south of Seoul.

It wasn't the pilots' fault. It was because the US-designed Sikorsky helicopter’s state-of-the-art equipment failed! |

According to the news this morning, the red warning lights weren't flashing on the building either. |

Whoever sent those pilots out there should be sued. I doubt there's enough there to press charges, but maybe at least a settlement can be had.
Bad visibility and inclimate weather is no place for light civilian aircraft. You never fly into clouds if you are a VFR only aircraft, which most light civilian craft are, and fog is basically one big cloud at 0-1500 feet.
Two good men are dead because of some entitled exec. |

Fat Chance of that happening..the pilots were definitely disorientated as the flight path wasn't near where they crashed. In the end, LG should count it's lucky stars that no one in the building or on the ground were killed. |

The flight was made because you always do as your ajossi tells you.
Know what else is surprising?
"LG has two choppers and it planned to fly both of them Saturday. Rep. Kim Eul-dong of the governing Saenuri Party was scheduled to board another LG helicopter to take part in the final of the women’s baseball event in Iksan, North Jeolla Province at 10:30am on the day. LG also confirmed it. However, the accident prompted her to take a vehicle to the match."
Surprising that's not illegal? Influence peddling? Giving free rides?
In Canada, accepting free rides means resigning as a breach of trust and conflict of interest.

But if you're caught smoking crack and soliciting prostitutes (allegedly) you can of course keep your job.
Sorry, couldn't resist. |

Yeah, I think the Canadians are done for awhile with the "But back home..." argument as they are currently the laughing stock of the world.
And you can't even pull the "but he would be denounced" card as while yes, he is being denounced, he is still polling at a 40% approval rate. 40%. And apparently still getting majorities in some suburban neighborhoods and offered a TV show. |
