I didn't see it. Was it the case in Texas where the farmer caught one of the migrant Mexican workers fiddling his kid and beat him to death? If I recall correctly, he didn't even get charged with anything. |
Yup, that's the one I was thinking of - and to me, the best part - no charges laid. I'm glad the system wasn't bothered by dealing with something that had already been dealt with. |

I remember back in Albuquerque, eons ago, there was a neighborhood cleanup project in one of the seedier areas and one of the volunteers heard a commotion and it wound up being some homeless dude trying to diddle some kid he snatched off the street. The volunteer picked up a 2x4 and beat the fiddler to death. Same situation-the cops took statements, called an ambulance for the kid, made some statements for the news and let the volunteer go on his way. No charges. Now that I recall, vigilantism wasn't frowned upon in that town. I can recall a couple of other vigilante incidents around that time. |
