Sometimes it does not hurt to try but I don't want that rejection to cause harm to me when I try applying for tourist visas to other places and they ask have you ever been rejected from a visa by any country. I was arrested for domestic battery, me and my brother use to fight a lot and so one day the neighbors called the cops on us for fighting and I was arrested. I since then have gotten that expunged here in Illinois. We were young immature, this happened in my early 20s. I have gotten it expunged here in the state of Illinois, I was not convicted for anything just arrested. I have never gotten in trouble again, I am also a veteran and have my Bachelors. Should I give it a go and see what happens? What are my cons for doing so?

If you're going to teach over here you need to get an FBI CBC anyways so why not just request one....if you got it expunged then maybe it won't show up? |

^^^ what he said.
Get your FBI check.
IF there is nothing there (no record found) then get a job.
If there is something there (anything other than "no record found") then skip it since a job/visa won't happen.
Until you get the check done and see what is actually on it anything else you hear is just speculation on what might be there.

More importantly, you need a better grasp of English if you expect to teach it. |

"Should I apply for a job if you have an arrest?" I've never been arrested, so you've got nothing to worry about.
Anyway, what he said he said: get your FBI check done, and see what turns up. |

Never been arrested, so I guess it wouldn't be a problem for you.
As far as your expunged record, you have to make sure it's been taken off of the FBI CBC. There's a good possibility it hasn't been removed from the FBI record. If you find out the FBI is still including it, you will have to contact the FBI and tell them your state expunged it and have them remove it. Obviously you don't give a FBI CBC to Korean immigration that lists the arrest record. You will never get any kind of visa issued for employment in the future even if you send CBC's later that don't list the arrest.

Exactly what I was thinking. I've never been arrested either so the dude should be good to go. |
