I think most universities are being audited due to the Private school law BA 4yrs exp or MA 2yrs exp.
When I was hired the law was BA 3yrs exp. The school assumed that public school experience was counted, but it was not according to the Private school law. I was up for recontract and heard that I would not be re-signed. The school has asked if I would leave voluntarily or they would state on the school record that I was underqualified so that is why I was npt recontracted . They also said if I voluntarily left that maybe I could be rehired again after I get my MA degree. Which is a better choice? If I voluntarily left would there be any repercussions?

No matter what you do, you can not stay. So, do it the way they want so they will like you and be a good reference. Then, when you do future cover letters, simply state that you had to leave because of the new rule. Everyone wins. Then nobody looks bad; it is just the way it is because of the new rule.

Just to clarify - you had three years experience as a full time teacher at a public school (not after school program) and they're saying it doesn't count?

Upon reading this post again, I find it a bit strange. What does the part I made red mean???? If they are not going to renew you, you have to leave. If not voluntarily, how else? Are they going to tie you up and drag you off camps?

Yes the public school does not count unless you have a teaching license before starting the public school.

That is why I am asking if this has happened to other people, what do you do in this case?
