Hello. I'm currently teaching in Thailand, thinking about making the move to Korea. I came into Thailand through an agency, which was nice and all, but then I realized that using ajarn.com and getting hired by the school directly is a much better way to go. Now I make almost twice as much as I did with the agency, and I teach math, which is better suited for me. And it was super easy to get hired.
So my question is this: are there similar advantages in Korea to bypassing agencies? Is there a website similar to ajarn.com where it's easy to get hired by a school directly. Thanks. |

Short answer = no, there is no advantage and this is not Thailand. Recruiters are not like agencies in Thailand. They are a one shot affair and are more like a head hunter from home than an employment or dispatch agency.
You will be hired and employed directly by the school / hagwon (language academy).
