Yeah, tough guy. That would have been great if the waterfall swept their van off the road. |

Not scary at all. It actually reminds me of some roads I've been on in Vietnam. It doesn't matter if you're going to fall 10 metres or a kilometre, you're going to die. The secret to surviving is not to fall off anything. |

Heres a nice clip of a typical mountain road in Peru, similar to conditions throughout the Andes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6fCUZj-cCo
Notice how the driver just beeps approaching a blind curve at speed.
I traveled on many buses & trucks there on roads like this 40 years ago (which from this video look to be in nicer conditon now). Exhilarating just getting from A to B. Himalayan roads (from experience) are considerably scarier.
I'm petrified of heights but I have an irrational trust in man-made conveyances. Still here! |
