My contract ends in January and I'm leaving a week afterwards. I'm moving to Germany for grad school and want to know about exchanging my Won to Euros. What's the best way to go about this, and getting the best exchange rate? Also, what's the safest way to travel with it?
I currently bank with Nonghyup, but I don't know if it's possible to exchange with them (at least in the small town I live in).
Thanks! |

All banks will have very similar exchange rates. Chances are the largest Nonghyup in your town has a currency exchange desk, or they'll point you to a different bank that does. Euros wont be a problem.
When I take large sums abroad, I get it all in larger denominations & just carry it in my front jeans pocket. That has never felt risky to me. |

Did you, by any chance, set up an account in Germany already? The wire would have been the best option.
If they don't have EUROs, they will try to offer you a traveler check (not bad frankly, but a bore to cash in Germany). |
