| I'm currently getting my documents together to get over to Korea and as everyone already knows, it's not exactly fun. What are the reasons that someone would be denied a visa? I don't have a criminal record and all my papers are valid. I'm just wondering if there's anything that could prevent me from being granted a visa. |

Well, I suppose you could fail the interview at the consulate. Not that I've ever heard of that happening but if everyone passed, why would it be a part of the process?
You'll be asked what your plans are, why you want to spend time in SK etc. Dressing well and being polite are just about the only real requirements. Other than that, it depends on who is doing the interview (whether there is any sort of bias etc.). |

| Or your medical history. On the E-2 form they will ask if you have a history of mental illness. I've heard people have been denied for answering in the affirmative. |

And if you know any Korean words use that. Greet them in Korean, or when they ask you what you will do in Korea other than work, tell them you want to try some Korean dishes (in Korean). |

| Are they still making you go to the consulate for interviews? I thought they did away with those. |

I've never done it....only time I have had to go to the Korean consulate was to pick up my visa....in and out, there was no interview. |

When I first got my E-2 sticker from the consulate, I didn't have an interview either. I dressed up and everything for nothing. lol.
I met E-2 people in Korea that had diagnosed depression, mental, or psychological problems (these were three separate cases), but they got their E-2 anyways. It must have been minor problems though. |

Or they just lied on their Visa application. |
