http://seoul.craigslist.co.kr/edu/4240126843.html

Camp pays teacher 3,000,000 to work 27/30 days, teacher has to work 66 hours a week, and eat all meals with students. Teacher makes 10,101 Won
per hour.

Parents pay 2-3 million to send their kids to these camps, which are packed with students... any one else thinks these places are cleaning up, on the back of teachers just trying to make some extra cash on their vacation?

And they are discriminating.

We've got to start urging people to not accept crap jobs. Otherwise, the whole ESL market in Korea will head South.

I have been telling the Korean moms around me for years to never send their kids to these money grabs. No learning goes on there.

Really sad. In some cases, recruiters advertise the job as an "easy job". The parents paying big bucks for the camps are the ones who lose. Look at the most recent job ad I saw:
Quote:
ASAP very laid back after school position in incheon
f-2,5,6visa holders only

location : incheon
teaching level : ele
teaching hour : 2days a week 12:50-4:20
salary : 1.2 (42800/hour)

this is afterschool class. easy work, no one cares you.

The recruiter doesn't give a sh*t about the kids. Neither does the camp owner. As long as the money keeps rolling in…well, that's the only thing that matters.
