See, yet again you're doing the SteelRails thing and putting words/actions into other people's mouths. Is anyone really losing their poop over this? It's a message board where some people are lamenting the loss of their favourite eating and drinking joints. It's not like this is a rally for violent uprising. So in your view, no one should ever say anything or talk about the past or share experiences. The only thing we're allowed to talk about, according to you, is accusing others of not talking about the things we want to talk about (how great Korea is). You don't want to read people talking about the old burger joint that closed down? THEN DON'T CLICK ON THIS THREAD. Done. And now I've saved you hours of going through every thread looking for something to get upset about.

Right, but fact is ppl are still whining that Korean ppl arent existing to make them happy. How dare they patronize restaurants with their own pleasure in mind. They should prioritze OUR pleasure. Its okay for ys to want things more westernized, but wrong for them to want things more Koreanized.

Okay, given that the foreigner to native ratio, is quite lopsided, aren't things already "Koreanized" enough for them? All that is going to happen is these spoiled foodies are going to come through there, make the place popular, raise the prices until the next new hipster area comes along and then leave Itaewon a ghost town. Mark my words, four eggplants.

Right, but it still sounds like you're upset that "Koreans" aren't behaving in a manner to make your life more happy.

I still don't understand how it's the customers fault when the owner jacks up the price.

No, PEOPLE aren't behaving in a manner that would make my life more happy. For someone who always goes on and on about how other foreigners can't see Koreans as people, you seem to be having a very hard time here doing the same.

So Korean diners shouldn't go to Itaewon? They shouldn't make their own requests for items? Is it okay for NET vegetarians to ask for substitions but wrong for Koreans to ask for pickles? Should they be banned? Are NETs going to have to engage in white flight because Koreans are coming into Itaewon?

Basically you are upset that the people here are not behaving as you wish when it comes to what they like to eat (or say, what music they enjoy, or any number of sad whines that people gripe about).

I see a lot of complaints. I don't see any real solutions.

If a bar I like closes or the food goes downhill at a joint I used to frequent, I move on. I don't get angry at people who eat there or prefer a competitor's for somehow enabling the demise of the restaurant. I don't believe that everyone on earth should share my tastes in food or music and that those who don't are somehow polluting my environment and should somehow be "educated" into reforming their ways.

Put up with your own dollars or bow to the tide.
