More impolite than crashing a plane?

Yeah, this part kind of floored me.

Asiana Pilot Set Throttles He Didn’t Understand to Idle

That's really too bad, but not an excuse because these Boeing airplanes have the same controls all over the world. He should have been trained correctly, and if he didn't understand in the classroom, he should have asked for help understanding the material.

I've worked in warehouses with stricter rules concerning who can operate a fork-lift. I am surprised that someone who doesn't know how to operate a plane correctly is allowed to fly it.

Asian pilots are notorious for relying on using auto-pilot to do everything, including landings and take-offs. So they don't really get enough daily experience in operating a plane, especially in landings and take-offs. It's not just a Korean thing or an Asiana thing.

The final report isn't expected until July 2014. It seems there is a lot of politics involved in the investigation and making these reports, which I didn't realize but should have.

of course they are blaming the SFO infrastructure and Boeing instead of the pilots

If the airport had such problems how come no other country's planes are crashing there?

Why?
A) It was boeing's fault too! Fuckin Boeing. Sick of them.
B) A wide ranging conspiracy that includes the NTSB and Barrack Obama himself is being waged against Asiana and thus Korea as a whole. Probably to discredit Korea and Koreans because the US is jealous. Japan may also be behind it.

Apparently not. I asked a Korean friend about it yesterday. Although he's a news junky he hadn't heard about it.

That professor should be posting here, or at least attending maxximum's apologista meetings. He's got the excuse-making perfect, right down to the meaningless comparison to the Incheon airport.
