Let's hope so. You should be able to disagree with any group you want. It's not like he was advocating that gays be tarred and feathered. If we are supposed to be tolerant then so should they.
You can disagree with any group you want. No one can stop you. What you can't do is force a private business to keep someone on the payroll in a case like this. I bet there is even a clause in the contract covering stuff like this.

You CAN disagree with any group...but legally they CAN stop you too. I don't think he went over the line here. In the first place he didn't compare homosexuality to bestiality...he was making a list of things he found objectionable. You should be able to do that and not face any repercussions...as long as it doesn't verge into "hate speech" which is a whole other can of worms.

Anyway, he's back which makes me hopeful about "the pendulum swinging the other way" (the imagery I used in my post above).

Well, Boston and Chicago were threatening to bar Chik-Fil-A's expansion into their cities because their President contributed five-or-six-figures to anti-gay-marriage causes. Basically, Boston and Chicago were threatening Chik-Fil-A's freedom of speech/expression.

When you give a monkey a million dollars, it'll still be a monkey, it'll be a rich monkey, but still a monkey.

I think his advice for finding a marriage partner is great.

You’ve heard plenty about Phil Robertson’s views on race and homosexuality, thanks to a very controversial interview with GQ. But it looks like the drama isn’t over for the Duck Dynasty star. Critics are now decrying a recently discovered video in which Phil espouses some rather contentious advice about finding the perfect wife.

Just when you think all the Phil Robertson drama is over, a new scandal emerges. This time, Duck Dynasty’s critics have found a video from a 2009 speech about wife hunting. They feel that Phil’s words of wisdom sound like a diatribe against female independence. In fact, a few Twitter naysayers have gone so far as to label the video as a call to pedophilia.

Initially, Phil’s suggestions seem fairly innocuous, albeit a bit out of date. Advising male audience members on choosing the perfect wife, Phil says that prospective husbands should look for young women who carry Bibles with them at all times. Also, he believes in ladies finding their way to guys’ hearts through their stomachs. “Make sure that she can cook a meal, you need to eat some meals that she cooks.” And if the gal knows a thing or two about ducks, Phil views her as practically perfect in every way.

According to Phil, finding a wife with all of these qualities is not possible for guys setting their sites on women in their early 20s. He thinks that women of this age are more interested in picking pockets than picking ducks. Instead, he advises, “You got to marry these girls when they are about 15 or 16.” Phil does add that grooms-to-be should check with parents before marrying teenage girls, but that tidbit’s not enough to appease those who have taken offense to his promotion of teenage marriage.

The guy has been married to the same woman for 50 years, I think he has earned the right to speak on marriage.

People say things all the time and to hold their words over their heads forever is a bit unfair and unjust.

This misconception of when adult comes allows for such charges to be made. There was a time when some Americans thought a girl was an old maid if she wasn't married by the time she was 15 and Robertson comes from that region.

Also, just because he believes those things doesn't mean he is right or that he should be removed from his television show. Some people over-react far too much and make mountains out of molehills for whatever reason they may have.

You are not the real Archie. He would never defend a racist like Robertson.

Not sure how reliable this is, but it sure makes this look like a whole lot of manufactured controversy: http://politicalblindspot.com/how-a-wealthy-clean-cut-duck-dynasty-tricked-the-world-for-publicity/.

Look at Kay's eyes. Botox injections. That's a redneck 'pioneer' woman? The show is 100% staged and very much scripted. They are satirical characters.
