I am on a d-10 visa WITHOUT national health insurance.
My next job in China requires me to do a physical check (HIV, x-ray, etc.) in Korea.
Any recommendations for a reasonably priced hospital in Seoul or Busan or between? What price can I expect without insurance?
The second thing I need, (if possible in the same hospital) is a *clears throat* colonoscopy. I heard some stories about rare cases that they can damage your bowel if made not professionally, so I need a hospital that doesn't treat you like on an assembly line.

If someone has info where and how much, it would be highly appreciated.

That type of medical is usually about 100k, with or without insurance.

As for the second thing, I'd say spend the money and go to a better hospital. Yikes!

You can't do the medical check in China?

If you do it in Korea, the price will be the same at almost any hospital or clinic. It might vary by 20k but otherwise it's pretty standard. What might be more important is whether they can give you a report in English.

Missed a polyp? Those are the things that turn to cancer. Perhaps Samsung Hospital in Seoul. They are in the same group as Cedar Sinai in the USA. They'll be more expensive but.......................how important is it to have a colonoscopy done right?

Yeah, I certainly don't recommend 21 Cho Clinic in Bundang. Joyfull Hospital in Gangnam has more advanced camera equipment on their colonoscopes and highly competent doctors. I went there because I read Molly Bloom writing about how great their head doctor is. I've never been to him, but the other doctors and surgeons I did see were A+++ fantastic.

I didnt see there were more answers until now. Wow thank you eze for the thorough explanation!
To make it simpler and save time, I would want to make both the health check and the colonoscopy in one hospital. following your description that would be joyful hospital. It seems their english is also better, right?
Can you tell me how much I should calculate to pay for everything together at joful or asan? Including laxatives, sedation, etc. (I dont have health insurance)
And one more important question, did you get sedated, and if yes, how?
Also i didnt get, what is a CD? I only know a CT Smile

"Searching a good and low-priced Hospital"

Interesting title. Did you lose something or are you looking for someone and do not want to go to the administration desk? Very Happy

Will China accept a medical report from Korea as it will be written in Korean not Chinese or English?

Any medicine or medical procedure has opportunities for rare mishaps. Did you read about the girl who basically died after a tonsillectomy? The parents are still in court trying to get her moved to a long care facility.

You can find competent care anywhere in Korea not just Seoul or Busan.

Asan's staff speaks excellent English. I'm not sure if Joyfull could give you results in English, but I think it's probable. Their doctors speak decent English and there's a translator named Stephen who translates between the patient and the financial staff. You may want to call them and see before you go. A CT scan costs around 200,000 after insurance. A CD costs 2,000-17,000 at hospitals and insurance doesn't cover that. You'll definitely want to get a copy of the x-ray on CD if you're taking it to China and expecting them to accept it. If they're requiring an x-ray, I'm sure they'd want to see it. I taught at a private school in China and didn't have to have any of that for my job or for my work visa. I'm assuming you've accepted a public job.

I was sedated both times. They just injected it into my left arm and I fell asleep in less than 10 seconds. The procedure isn't a big deal. The worst part is drinking the prep liquid the night before. Wherever you decide to go, I highly recommend the sodium picolate.
