Hello guys!

Sorry if this has been answered already. I tried my best google-fu and couldn't find anything. Also, the immigration line hasn't been of much help.

I finished a 2-year contract with my hagwon. I left the country, and handed back my ARC card to whatever official took it at the airport. I had an E2 visa.

I have been outside of the country for less than 90 days.

I'm trying to find other hagwon jobs, and I'm confused about when my CRC becomes invalid.

1. If I enter Korea as a tourist before my 90 days is up, is my CRC valid?

2. If I get a job, sign a contract, and obtain a visa issuance number before 90 days has passed, is my CRC valid without me coming back quite yet?

3. According to woman I spoke with at immigration, the only way my CRC will still be valid is if I: find a job to sponsor me, they obtain a visa issuance number, and I return to Korea all before the 90 days is up. Is this correct?

Thanks for any help.

Cheers!

To my knowledge, you cannot get a new visa issuance number without a CRC. You need a CRC to be issued the visa. Once your visa expired (since you turned in your card) so did all the documents that had to be acquired. Now if you have a D-10 that is a different story.

I could be wrong, but nobody else has replied yet so...

This is correct.

If you are out of the country and/or without a valid visa for MORE THAN 90 days THEN you need all new documents for an E2 or a D10.

In theory and regulation you would be allowed to get a new job sans a CRC if it has been filed before.

Yet in reality, a new visa will mean new paperwork. Immigration likes to have a new docs.

Recommend is you get the CRC and degree being done in the meantime. Yet try to apply without on now.
