Now if I could only talk a few of you guys into playing some damn B-ball, everything would be just as sweet as pickles on a pizza.

What time do you usually play? Me and a buddy go down to the courts on the Tancheon near Jeongja station occasionally. But lately groups of 8+ ajushi's show up and bully us off the court. "we play now you go". |
We could get those old guys to scram if we made a posse and I painted my face and dressed up to look like Baseball Fury.
Seriously though, I haven't played at all this year. Last year I was playing a lot, but then the Joy of Parenthood overtook me, and I faltered in my extracurricular duties.
I used to play at a court by the Tancheon, near Samsung Plaza: the one you can see while coming into the city on the 1005-1 express bus. They've since done it over (in green, same as the court near Jeongja, I think), and it's usually occupied these days (it wasn't last year, even though it was probably the best court in Bundang, even before the re-paving). However, the court on the other side of the river (near high school) is also brand-new, and hardly ever occupied, even on weekends.
Let's play.
Anywhere.
Anytime*

Am I wrong in assuming Bundang and Hanam are close by?
I'd be up for meeting new faces.
Unless of course this is a GUY thing, then I'll just move on... |
Anyone who loves Stand By Me and Say Anything as much as I do must have a little GUY in them -- or perhaps it's vice-versa. In any case, you are most surely welcome, doll-face.

Sparkles thanks for reminding me to change my location. It should now read Bundang. Forgot to change it!
Jack, Yes the hot water in the apartment works fine once I had the landlord over to show me how to work it. I was getting cold water like you at first. The trick is you can't turn it on full blast. Just about half way and then you get a scorching hot shower!
Katydid, no this is not a guy thing. If you want hang out just PM me.
A few questions for you guys. Where is a good place to catch a movie? I want to go check out that new Troy movie.
Is there a decent gym with free weights that doesnt cost alot to join? I want to start working out again. The few small mom and pop places in my area only have aerobics, a few treadmills and a few nautilus type machines. Has anyone been into that big Roxy Fitness place at Samsung Plaza? I am betting it is expensive though right? |

There are two cheap gyms right next to where you work. Hansol Health Club and Hooners Health club. I go to Hooners. Its 60k for one month or something like 150k for 3 months. Its got free-weights, weight machines, ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, sauna and steam-room. The guys that run the place are pretty friendly too. To find it, go to the corner where KFC/BK is then head up the road to the KT building. You'll come to a set of lights right in front of a school. Turn right at the lights and walk straight for about 2 mins, the club is on the right, first floor. |

There is a CGV movie theatre at Ori station, which is really nice. There is also one near Samsung Plaza in that building that says Kims Club on it.
Also, if you're looking for something to do this week, check out the Seongnam International Folklore Festival at the big bandshell in Central Park (near Samsung Plaza). There are performances starting every night at 7:30 until the 22nd. Best of all, its free!!!! I went on Saturday, but unfortunately I work too late to see it anytime durring the week. |

There are two seperate theaters in Samsung Plaza. The one in the Kim's Club building, which are tiny, kinda cruddy theaters but it has 8-10 screens.
Then there is a theater next to the hospital which is much nicer but only has 4-5 screens.
There is also a CGV at Yatap station. But for your money the CGV at Ori is the best place to watch a movie in Bundang. |

Biggest nightclub is OzOz which I think just changed its name to Rose Tatoo, but its Korean style and expensive. Even though they have no problem with letting foreigners in.

I asked my high school students where the best nightclub in Bundang was. They said, "OzOz."
I told our college interns that, and they laughed. They said it's only greasy older korean guys who can't get a date.
They suggested going to Gangnam. |
Derrek, you found a new home....OZOZ sound right up your alley...that is when you're not in church or accidentally discovering redlight districts.... |
