Serious question. Some of you take my posts to be trolling but they are all in fact true.
I would appreciate genuine replies to the following question-
How normal/common is it for a korean girl to have her own place in seoul?
I am talking about someone of about 23 and still at university. |

Not common at all. This really only happens if the parents live out of city and they don't have a relative to live with. I think I only met one college girl who lived alone
Generally, women don't leave the house until they are married. I've met plenty of girls going into their 30s who still live with their family. |

| If she's at university I imagine it's fairly common. Any bright girl who lives outside Seoul will want to go to a university there, so unless they have relatives in Seoul the parents will have to pay for a dorm/goshiwon/studio flat for her, depending on how well off they are. |

| Almost non existent...If she is not married, she will live with her parents. The only exception to this rule, is if she lives in a different city than her parents, for work/school reasons. It is not uncommon for a 30-35 year old to still live with their parents. |

University age? If her family is outside of Seoul, it's very likely.
Working girl (no, not that kind) - there's a growing number of women that live on their own before marriage - I've taught a fair number of them. It's really not all that rare anymore. |

It's common, but I'd say most live with roommates to bring down the cost of housing. Maybe 20% live alone.
But most 23 year old girls are not in university. Guys, yes because of their military service requirements. |

Depends in what sense
In the sense that she'd have more freedom to spend nights with you, probably yes.
In the sense that she's from a well off family, depends whether you saw her pad or not. Some of these students live in pretty dire conditions.
Did you find out why she was still at university at the age of 23? Is she doing a Masters or was she a late starter? |

Some take a year off to study English overseas.

Yes I saw her place. It was not great but it was modern and clean albeit pretty small but much better than the place I had in deokso provided by wonderland.
Why do you think I am a troll?
I have done some very stupid things that few people know about. Since getting fired from my latest job in japan I thought I would come clean about things, not only to people I know it to people on these forums - people that have lived and worked in similar situations to me.
So what is it that makes you think I am a troll? |

About the girl - she had studied abroad I think, I know she had travelled and volunteered in different places around the world. She had been to America, the uk and Australia for sure. Elsewhere too but I forget.
Our ages were a month apart. I turned 24 at the end of August while on my 'midnight run'- staying at her place and not showing up for work and ignoring the phone calls. |
