|
|
I searched this forum but couldn't find the answer! My friend has an offer from SDA Language School. The issue is, the recruiter doesn't know the location so he wants to hold off signing it.
Is it possible for him to just sign it anyway and send the docs and then cancel the whole deal afterwards or will he get reported to immigration and get blacklisted?
Any info on the school would be nice as well.
Thanks |

But if he sent his documents and then refused to sign a contract wouldn't he just have to go through the entire process of getting his documents again? |

There is no issue. If the recruiter can't tell you the location, DON'T SEND THE DOCUMENTS!!! |

Yes I suppose he would have to, but the main issue is if the school will report him to immigration and get him blacklisted if decides to back out.
The location issue bugs me as well... |

Seriously. Why the rush? Just don't send them. |

He won't get blacklisted. Immigration has no blacklist, other than people who have broken immigration regulations. e.g. overstayed visa, were here on wrong type of visa. In fact, if they've committed any type of crime, it will show up when immigration checks him out. BUT contracts are not a matter of criminal law. They are a matter of civil law and immigration couldn't care less about them.
Where he WILL potentially have a problem though if the school applies for a visa issuance number. Once immigration has issued one VIN, they won't issue another until the first expires (usually 3 months) or until the visa has been issued and then cancelled. That would involve getting the visa then coming to Korea and leaving again.
He should be firm with the recruiter and refuse to sign any contract until he knows where the school is located. |

'Doesn't know where the school is located' might mean 'we are thinking we might have a school', don't send the documents. Immigration doesn't even know and won't know you exist until they provide you with a visa, or until you break the law inside Korea. |

"Doesn't know where the school is located" most likely means it's in a remote or undesirable area. Why they can't pick up the phone and ask makes it seem even more shady.
Your friend should just walk away and start working with a new and more honest recruiter. Nothing bad will happen in regards to Immigration because they've done nothing wrong. |

The recruiter was pressuring my friend, but then backed down when my friend told them he wanted to know the location first. They'll know by Monday apparently. |
