| This will be completly unhelpful, but get a Korean to help you. I got a calling "card" off the internet when I first got here for 3 man won last July, and it's still going strong. something like 350 minutes to the US. Forget KT. I wish I had the URL, but I've moved away from that helpful gal at my old hagwon. |

Miracle Card
$24 for 8 hours and 20 minutes.
I get them near Camp Walker in Daegu. I don't know where to get them in Seoul, but I am sure they are available. |

I tried several different - not so good alternatives and settled on the A+ Card. Go to www.gdr.co.kr/english and select the choice you like the best - copy down the info - go to your bank and they will wire the money to them and you will be all set. I think it takes about 2 days for the account to be up and running.
No time of day restrictions - connection as good as any other service - can do it from any town or city. The card I use - A+ - is W13,000, but I usually deposit W26,000 and it gives me more time that I need for a whole year. I think about 480 minutes for the W26k. Even had a problem with them one time and they sorted it out very well (deposited W20k and they wanted it in even W13k increments!?).
A lot of people advocate internet phone services - but I found them to be lousy at best - and at times impossible. Was trying to call my elderly mother (not the best of hearing) and didn't want to fa*rt around with a lousy connection. Internet telephony - wave of the future yes, but good guality is not here in Korea yet. The broadband connection in/out of Korea is too up and down. |

Great response.
Fantastic.
Itaewon it is. I'll stop by the booth when I stumble out of the bars Sunday am.

I use a phone card (for land line) and it gives me 11 hours for 24,000! That's by far the cheapest I've seen in 3 years.
Name: July 4 (has picture of iwo jima)
new name: Card land of the USA (black with usa made of eggs)
