|
|
I've been checking out a lot of after school jobs lately, and wow, there are some great gigs out there.
However, this summer one of my family members is getting married, and I can't miss it. Most of the contracts I've seen have 5 days vacation in them.
Has anyone working an after school job been able to arrange 2 weeks vacation during the summer?
How does the summer vacation / winter vacation alter the landscape in an afterschool program?
Thanks for any input. |

generally, if you are not here already, negotiating vacation is not going to happen simply because they will go with the candidate who is easier to hire for them and does not require the extra vacation.
Nearly all jobs here have a pretty set vacation schedule. In your second year its possible to negotiate for more vacation time, but I would guess that you are going to have a hard time getting hired from overseas if you tell everyone that you need a specific time time during the summer.
Also, to be honest, two weeks seems like a long ass vacation to go home for a wedding. |
