|
|
Hi guys,
I'm currently coming up to the end of a year's teaching in Thailand and want to move to Korea next, however, sorting out my documents is proving a bit of a hassle as I want to arrange all that here rather than having to send them home, to be legalised. Do any UK citizens have any first hand experience of getting documents such as police checks and degrees legalised in Thailand enabling you to work in Korea. I'm hearing different answers from different people so it would be good to hear if anyone has followed this path to go to Korea.
Thanks,
Jack |

The bad news is that you cannot get your UK documents legalized in Thailand for use in Korea.
1) Thailand is NOT a signatory to the apostille treaty.
2) Korean immigration will insist that your documents be apostilled in the UK.
a) You are going to have to send your documents home to get it done or
b) go home, do it and then go to Korea (since Korean jobs will pay for your airfare to Korea anyway).
