Preface: I know I am breaking esl cafe codes on a couple counts. First, I have not posted in YEARS and I'm starting a thread. Also, this is a topic that has probably come up a lot (although my searches didn't turn up much). Please indulge anyway. Locations and businesses change so frequently in Korea, so I thought it might be timely to bring up this discussion.
As Valentines Day, White Day, and other such days approach, what are some good date spots you can recommend.
Personally, I am so over Time Square, N Seoul Tower, Myeongdong, Rainbow Hookah, etc. I'm looking for something actually romantic and classy. You know, like something you might see in a movie. So far I have come up with a night in one of the nicer Busan hotels (although it may be too cold to really enjoy), or Once in a Blue Moon jazz club. Anymore suggestions from the expat folks?
Basically, don't suggest one of the 30 cliche things you can find by typing in "date spot Seoul" into google, and I'll be satisfied. |

You could try skating at Seoul Plaza. That's what we plan to do. |

How's the skating there? The wife and I brought our skates over from the US, but we haven't had a chance this winter to go use them. Is it pricey and overcrowded, or what? |

You might try a path along a rice field. Worked for me. |

Caniff, I have yet to go, but as of last night when we made reservations, it seemed that it wouldn't be too busy. And I have a feeling that it won't be that busy this Friday, I don't think Koreans would think of it as a romantic outing. |

Cheap but awful.
Try the Hyatt on Namsan. More expensive, but way nicer. |

What makes it awful? Just so that I know what to expect. I'm not looking for anything fancy... |

It's just insanely crowded. Think Saturday afternoon Myeongdong on ice. |
