I got one job where I replaced a teacher was a LDS. No work on Fridays |
I give up. Why no work on Fridays? The LDS Sabbath is Sunday. |
I have never heard of Sunday being the day. I was told when it gets dark on Friday, no work.
I have a friend in China who is the same, but he celebrates on Saturday. He doesn't work on Saturday (which is a big inconvenience when I need his help on Saturdays) but it's ok on Sunday.
Ok, I see I mixed up my cults. It's Seventh-day Adventists. I am sorry. |

China has an interesting plan for holidays. A Saturday and a Sunday close to the holiday are declared working days and the holiday is extended to three days (or more, depending on the holiday). I wonder how your friend deals with that situation.

Cults? Quaint.
FYI there are even some Baptists who celebrate their Sabbath on Saturday.
Other dates for Sabbath that I can recall off-hand are: Sunday for most Christian groups; Saturday for Judaism, SDA, and SDB; and Friday for Muslims. No doubt there are some groups celebrating theirs on other days of the week.
And in any serious discussion about Sabbaths, one must remember the best one. |
